About This Quote

Napoleon Bonaparte said, “The election of a Caesar or a Alexander is a matter of chance.” In other words, the world is full of people who have the potential to become great leaders, but they're not. Caesar and Alexander were both great leaders for their time. But they were born in a different place and a different time, so they didn't have the same advantages as we do today. They couldn't have studied at college or have access to the best teachers.

So it's not really possible for them to have become leaders of their day. However, even though today's leaders can't be compared to those from days gone by, that doesn't mean that the world isn't blessed with great people. There are very many people who are full of potential for greatness.

We're all born with the ability to achieve success, but we often lose this ability through no fault of our own.
